Once again this year, Meerane International Grammar School took part in World Cleanup Day and the traditional Meerane Cleanup Day with great commitment. Under the leadership of our principal Ms. Sommer, actively supported by our tireless janitor Mr. Müller and accompanied by many committed teachers, more than 80 pupils, parents and teachers gathered to make the town a little cleaner and more beautiful together.
In bright sunshine, large areas around the two school buildings, as well as parts of Meeran city center, the train station area, Pestalozzistraße, the new town hall and the sculpture park, were thoroughly cleared of garbage. The "green classroom" was also diligently worked on, cleaned up and beautified.
Our international students and the sixth form were particularly active: with a lot of energy, they brought new life to the outdoor area of our high school. They tidied up the area, designed new seating and prepared the area around the newly installed table tennis tables - a place where they will be able to spend many enjoyable breaks in the future.
A big thank you to all the helpers who lent a hand on this day. You have shown that joint commitment unites our school and our town.
Yes, we did it - together for a cleaner and brighter world!
