On August 23, 2024, the long-awaited school party of the last school year took place in bright sunshine. Numerous visitors flocked to the school grounds in Pestalozzistraße from 3 p.m. to experience an entertaining and varied summer day together.
The guests' physical well-being was well catered for: the twelfth grade students and the student company "Meerchen 96-12" spoiled everyone with a variety of culinary delicacies. Particularly popular were the freshly grilled Ćevapčići and the spicy kettle goulash, which delighted many visitors. Those who preferred something sweet could help themselves at the cake bar, where a large selection of home-baked treats were on offer. The cocktail bar provided the right summer feeling with refreshing drinks.
In addition to the culinary highlights, there was also a colorful hands-on program for young and old. A particular highlight was the "Sloth Challenge", which tested athletic skill and endurance in a humorous way. In the International Pavilion, our international students delighted visitors with henna tattoos and small international treasures. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our international students in particular for their great commitment in making this special day a success. The youth fire department of the town of Meerane also presented itself and offered an insight into its work.
Another highlight of the festival was the impressive performances by the Theater-AG. With two entertaining plays, the talented actors ensured a packed auditorium and captivated the audience with their performances. The Theater-AG received much applause and recognition for their creative work.
The school festival was accompanied by music from the school radio team and great performances by the band class in the green classroom, who presented their skills.
Thanks to the fantastic weather and the good organization, the school festival was a complete success. Friends, parents, students, alumni and teachers spent an unforgettable afternoon together. Everyone involved was delighted with the successful event and is already looking forward to the big celebration on June 14 - our 150th school anniversary.
