IT FOR LIFE – IGM PROJECT WEEK 2026

Project Week 2026 at IGM, Fit for Life

In the first week of February 2026, the IGM was transformed into a vibrant project landscape. Nineteen classes immersed themselves in over 30 projects and experienced learning as a journey of discovery, far removed from the usual timetable and full of new perspectives.

A special dynamic developed between creative workshops and digital adventures. Participants designed and experimented with storytelling, sewing, and upcycling, in the book workshop, or with figure modeling. At the same time, website programming, robotics, 3D printing, and computer science escape games opened doors to the digital world. Introductory science courses, the world of languages, and a climate project broadened horizons beyond the boundaries of individual subjects.

Personal and social skills were also a focus. Workshops on happiness, intercultural understanding, and safe media use as part of Safer Internet Day provided food for thought. Drug prevention and healthy eating raised awareness of personal lifestyle choices. A German Red Cross course, etiquette training, and projects on financial literacy, household management, and job application training taught skills relevant to everyday life.

The excursions to the Saxon State Parliament and the Hoheneck Memorial left a lasting impression. The week impressively demonstrated how learning comes alive when curiosity, team spirit, and practical experience come together.
