Excursion to Weimar: We took the train to Weimar, one of the most culturally rich cities in Germany. This was made clear to us again afterwards with a 2-hour guided tour of the city.
We ended the evening with a visit to the cinema, where we watched "A Haunting in Venice".
The next day we had a guided tour in which we were given an insight into the creation and development of the building. In the afternoon, we attended a workshop in the House of the Weimar Republic, where we collected information about the period in preparation for our history lessons.
Of course, a visit to the Buchenwald concentration camp, which we did on a guided tour, is a must when visiting Weimar. Before we did this, however, we visited the memorial at the bell tower, about which Ms. Arzig gave us some information.
We enjoyed the excursion and found it very informative and exciting. The concentration camp in particular was very impressive and made us think.
