Our grade 6 swim camp in August 2023

During the first week of school, we went to the summer pool in Glauchau every day from Wednesday to Friday. All children who lived near the summer pool could come on foot or by bike. The other children met at 8:00 am at the school, where they left at 8:30 am with the school buses. The swim camp had it all. We learned (almost) everything: the swimming rules, sports swimming, diving, head diving and endurance swimming. We always had training in classes: first the 6a and then the 6b. After we swam diligently, we had fifteen minutes of water free time. When both classes had swum, we could rest during the lunch break. And then we did this every day. On the last day we got three grades at once: Swimming technique, endurance swimming and the theory test. After that, the swimming instructors held a fun swimming Olympics with us. We divided into the teams Thaddeus, the Sharks, the Seals and the Monkey Gang. Team Seal won with a considerable lead over Team Shark. After that it was all over and we could enjoy a weekend for the time being.
