#WEREMEMBER – In Memory of the Past, for the Future

January 27 is the official day of remembrance for the victims of National Socialism. It also commemorates the liberation of the Auschwitz extermination camp 81 years ago. To mark this important day of remembrance, the twelfth-grade students at the International Gymnasium Meerane organized a lecture on the causes and course of the Holocaust, followed by workshops for the higher grades. The primary goal of the event was to educate students about the dangers and consequences of racism, anti-Semitism, and homophobia. The focus was on the importance of tolerance and the responsibility to prevent historical crimes from being repeated.
