ADAC: Bike-Ready - Fit for the bike with ADAC

Under the motto "Safety first", our new fifth grades were able to demonstrate their skills on the bike and expand their knowledge of road traffic in the ADAC traffic safety training on Friday, 15.09.2023.
In mild, late summer weather, we welcomed Ms. Bucher from the ADAC to our school. She designed an appealing program for our students around the topic of road safety. In addition to theoretical topics, such as important traffic rules and the necessity of wearing a bicycle helmet, the focus was also on skills on the saddle. The girls and boys demonstrated their skills on the prepared course by testing their agility, the duration and length of their braking distances, and the cornering behavior of their bikes.
But also the consequences of a sudden braking of a passenger car were made clear and the students understood how important it is that all occupants of a vehicle are belted and careless behavior on the bike in traffic can have serious consequences. Afterwards, we were able to congratulate many students on receiving a medal.
We would like to thank Mrs. Bucher for the competent execution as well as the ADAC
for the possibility of practical learning, which makes our students "fit for life".
