Excursion to France 2022

We spent this year's field trip to France from 10/08/2022 to 10/10/2022 in Strasbourg and from 10/11/2022 to 10/13/2022 in Paris. Our train ride to Strasbourg took about 8 hours. On Sunday, our first day in Strasbourg, we visited the cathedral, did a city rally to get to know the city better and went to eat tarte flambée together.

When it got dark, we looked at the brightly lit city. The next day, we first went to the Council of Europe (Conseil de l'Europe), where we listened to the first assembly of the week for 45 minutes. We then saw the European Court of Human Rights and toured the European Parliament. Finally, we took part in a one and a half hour boat ride in Strasbourg, seeing many beautiful buildings and gaining new impressions. On Tuesday, we took the train to Paris around 1:00 pm. After 2 hours and 30 minutes we arrived. We took our luggage to the hostel and we were on our way. We saw Notre Dame and the Centre Pompidou. After we ate something, we walked towards the Eiffel Tower to see it lit up for the first time. The next day was another very impressive day for us. After visiting Sacré Cœur, we went on to the Louvre. There we looked at the Mona Lisa and many more works of art. Later we walked along the Champs Elysee towards the Arc de Triomphe. After many steps we had a great view over Paris from the top. But the highlight of the day for most of us was probably the visit of the Eiffel Tower. We took the elevator up the floors. There we stayed until it got dark and saw Paris lit up from above. Once back down, we took a close-up look at the Eiffel Tower as it glittered on the hour. We walked on for an even better view, ate French crepes, and admired the Eiffel Tower for the rest of the evening. The next day was also very exciting. First, we took the train to the Palace of Versailles. There we looked at the chambers and the Hall of Mirrors. Then we went to the catacombs to visit them. To end the day and our excursion, we went to La Tour Montparnasse. After having something to eat, we took the elevator up the 56 floors to admire Paris one last time in the evening. After it cleared up, we were able to see the Eiffel Tower and much more. We will definitely not forget this moment so quickly. On Friday we took the train back to Meerane and were back home at about 17:45.
