On 26.01. we, the class 8a, were in the synagogue in Chemnitz and at the Jewish cemetery on the occasion of the following Holocaust Memorial Day. The synagogue was very modern from the inside and outside and a nice gentleman led us into the prayer room. All the boys had to wear a kippah and women and men had to sit separately. We were explained a lot about Judaism and the structure of the synagogue (e.g.Torah,Bima and history of the synagogue). From the synagogue we went to the Jewish Cemetery and looked at the tombs. The visit was very interesting and we learned a lot.
