Experiments one after another - Nawiwoche in Jena

On Monday, September 25, 2023, classes 7a and 7b went with teachers Mrs. Lorenz, Mr. Schröter and Mr. Delic to Jena/Weimar for the Nawiwoche.

First, we worked on a task sheet for the city rally in Jena. We were able to move around freely in Jena. The highlight of the day was the Jentower. The students who wanted to could climb the Jentower and enjoy the beautiful view. After we took the train back to Weimar, we moved into our rooms.

The second day of the NAWI week- Tuesday 26 September 2023- included many routes for running. We went to Jena by train for the second time. From the train station we walked to Imaginata in Jena. There we did many experiments. Among them were optical illusions, weight forces, sound transmission and a dark labyrinth. In a last hall we could move "freely", take pictures of experiments and pictures in games. Finally, in Jena, we had time to stroll around the city until 5:45 pm.

18:00 we went to the Zeiss Planetarium and watched a movie about planets, stars and galaxies of the universe. After that we went back to Weimar by train.

On the third day - Wednesday, September 27, 2023 - we divided into two groups. The first group went to the Phyletic Museum and learned about amber. Afterwards we were even allowed to cut amber ourselves and take it home. The second group went to the MINT festival to see a presentation about lenses that are used in everyday life and are needed for telescopes. We listened to a lecture and experimented afterwards. Later, everyone met and went to the MINT Festival, where we did microscopy and learned about Zeiss microscopes. Afterwards, we went back to the youth hostel in Weimar and had free time.

On Thursday, 28 September 2023, we packed our bags to get ready for the return trip.
By train we went back to Meerane. In between we had to wait 45min. in Gößnitz because the track was occupied. After we arrived in Meerane, we formed groups in the school for the excursion tasks.

On Friday, September 29, 2023, we then worked on the field trip assignments and heard something else about the planets in our solar system from Mr. Schreiber.

The week was very interesting and we experienced a lot.
