Holocaust Remembrance Day on 27 January

Denial of the Auschwitz genocide is punishable in Germany today under certain conditions. Nevertheless, it happens again and again in supposedly enlightened times. Even worse: it is heard by a few.

Not least for this reason, our school pays special attention to January 27. On Holocaust Memorial Day, we remember more than 6 million murdered Jews on the one hand, and on the other, we deal with the forgetting of history, or the denial of history. In this way, our students develop an awareness of history that allows them to correctly interpret the mistakes of the past and sensitizes them to shaping the future in a positive way.
And so, this year again, our school carried out a program which, among other things, followed Erich Kästner, who said: "The past must speak and we must listen. Before that, we and it will not find peace."
