International School Open Day

On January 28, the International High School opened its doors and offered guests an unforgettable experience. This day was marked by many surprises and exciting activities. Already in the entrance area our students welcomed the guests and offered extensive schoolhouse tours. In doing so, they reported openly and honestly about their school days at the Gymnasium and gave the visitors an authentic insight into school life.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the interactive quiz in the auditorium. Tricky questions about the school were asked and baffled the visitors in the packed auditorium. How many kilometers do the students cover on their field trips? How many nationalities are represented at our school? The answers to these questions, as well as many small experiments and even the changeover test, created excitement and enthusiasm among the guests.

The classes and student councils also presented a variety of offerings in their rooms. From science subjects to band class and choir, it was all there. Asian art was on display in the art cabinet, while the chemistry and biology cabinets, as well as the physics and computer science cabinets, showcased students' latest projects and discoveries. The school radio and the theater group invited to participate, and also the newly equipped SOL rooms for self-oriented learning were proudly shown: Study-Room, Coaching-Room, Silent-Room and many other small learning areas were renovated and furnished in many hours of own work are the highlights for our students.

Class 12 and the student company took care of the physical well-being of the visitors with international delicacies as well as roasts, mulled wine and punch. To make sure there was something for everyone, the school club offered games, handicrafts and painting fun, as well as the ever-popular face painting for children.

Overall, the open day was a complete success and offered friends and interested parents a comprehensive insight into the life of the International Gymnasium Meerane. The variety of activities and offers inspired the visitors and gave an impression of the lively and inspiring atmosphere at our school.
