Ski camp 2023 in Neukirchen am Großvenediger

Finally the time had come. After a two-year break from Corona, our ski camp could once again take place in Neukirchen am Großvenediger. 39 students and 6 counselors started the journey on 08.01.2023 and all came back home safe and sound on Saturday, 14.01..
In Austria, the original planning had to be changed a bit, because there was no cross-country skiing possible in the valley. So we started with the advanced group a two-day snowboard training and with the beginners the ski alpine basic training. For this we were allowed to use the beginners' slope with the generous support of the Neukirchen ski school.
In both groups, the first successes were seen quite quickly and everyone had a lot of fun despite great efforts and wet clothes due to rain.
On days three to five, we broke through the cloud cover that hung darkly over the valley with the cable car and went up the mountain. Kids and instructors encountered the best slope conditions and almost imperial weather. Both groups, beginners and advanced, continued to make super learning progress in downhill skiing. On the last day of training, the euphoria was at its highest, because everyone could now ski really well and the downhill runs were getting longer and also a bit faster. Nobody wanted to stop. But we had to, because as always, when it's best, you go home. After a last dinner at Venediger Blick, we started our journey home, even if a little late. Goodbye Neukirchen. Hope to see you next year.
A special thanks to our students of classes7a and 7b, who were super sweet and represented our school in the best way. We are proud of you.
Furthermore we would like to thank for the support and the great time together: Karin Ivanow (housekeeping), Andreas Auerswald (ski), Ben Öhlmann (snowboard, ski), Dominik Kürth (snowboard), Ramona Thieme (ski) and Thomas Splitthof (ski).
