This school year, unfortunately, we could not yet start our excursion to England. Therefore, we spent the week at school with a very extensive program, which our class teacher Mrs. Seidel as well as Mrs. Thieme, Mr. Gomez and Mr. Riedel put together with the active support of some parents.

On Monday, we had an exciting interview with players of the Eispiraten from Crimmitschau and asked questions about ice hockey, which we had compiled beforehand.

On Tuesday, Mrs. Thieme and Mr. Riedel taught us how to play tennis on the tennis court in Meerane and explained the first important basics. Even though it was sometimes a bit difficult, everyone had a lot of fun and there was a lot of laughter.

Wednesday we went to Crimmitschau ourselves, because we had been invited by the Eispiraten to be present at their training and additionally had a guided tour through the stadium. At the end, everyone who wanted to was allowed to skate, which was a lot of fun.

For Thursday, Mr. Riedel had planned a visit to the cinema Metropol in Gera. There we watched the David Bowie movie, which Mr. Reidel as a huge fan had chosen for us.

Since our main topic for this week was "Canada", we wanted to take a closer look at it on Friday. After we had the traditional pancakes with maple syrup for breakfast at school (prepared by boys of class 9b), we walked through Meerane and presented our chosen sights, in English of course, using examples of the surrounding area, which was quite funny in the end (the fountain at the market represented Niagara Falls) and was a good conclusion to our language week. A special highlight for some students was the game of the Eispiraten against Freiburg on Friday evening, which was especially celebrated with a victory for Crimmitschau.
