Where do I want to go in my life? What do I want to achieve? These were the questions our eleventh graders had to ask themselves in December to prepare for the job application training that was held for them at our school as part of the FfL (Fit for Life) lessons.
16 external partners, mostly parents from our school, took a day to talk to the pupils about job applications. To make a good impression in a job interview of any kind, you should be clear about what your goals are. Do you want to see the world? Or make big money quickly? Or save the environment? And what steps do you need to take to get closer to these goals? Our eleventh-graders explored these topics in 16 conversations with alternating interviewees, who "felt them out" to find out what kind of person was sitting in front of them.
Conclusion of the day: Overall, our students made a very good impression and convinced their interview partners in a number of conversations! And what do our students say? They really liked the fact that their interview partners gave them helpful tips for their self-presentation, which they were then able to try out and apply in the next interview - learning by doing at its best! And for the future: "No more excitement at real job interviews", because each of our students has now gone through this type of interview 16 times.
