Never Again: A Reflection on Our Visit to Buchenwald Concentration Camp
At what point is one person worth less than another? At what point do you have the right to degrade and brutally kill another person because of their religion, origin, sexuality or political opinion?
On May 9, 2025, we celebrated Europe Day at the International Gymnasium Meerane: a day that reminds us that Europe is more than just a continent: it is a promise of peace, freedom and cooperation. And it reminds us how closely our present is linked to the history of European integration - from the Schuman Plan of May 9, 1950, to the current challenges of the EU.
Stem cells are special cells of the human body that can develop into almost all other cells. The development into blood cells plays a particularly important role in medicine, as it offers the chance to cure serious diseases of the hematopoietic system such as leukemia. The probability of finding a suitable donor for a patient increases with the number of people registered with a stem cell donor center.
With great motivation and anticipation, we began our one-week study trip to Malta - made possible through funding from the EU program ERASMUS+. The trip offered a well-balanced mix of cultural exchange, academic input, and language development.
Early Sunday morning was the day: with lots of bags and suitcases, we set off with our teachers on the coach towards Austria. Four days of mountains, snow and skiing lay ahead of us.
The first week of March 2025 was a very special and varied time for us. As part of Erasmus+ student mobility, we took part in a linguistic and cultural exchange and were able to meet the students from Agora Sant Cugat International School in person, with whom we had previously been in contact virtually.
