Good news: The IGM is now the proud owner of a defibrillator! Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our student representatives and the active support of the school club as part of the "Little Paramedic Workshop", we were able to apply for this life-saving device from the school authorities - with success.
Our 9th grade excursion to London took place from 15.9. to 20.9.2024. On Sunday afternoon, we started our bus journey on time towards the ferry port of Dunkirk. After almost 20 hours of travel, we finally arrived in London. Although we were pretty exhausted, we went straight to the first highlight: the famous Globe Theatre.
We live in a time when the values of our society are the subject of much debate. Some people may also ask themselves what these values actually are. The German Basic Law in particular provides us with information on this question and shows how important it is to uphold human dignity and fundamental rights.
On August 28, 2024, the time had come again: the geo-competition at the International High School in Meerane took place for grades 7 and 12. Organized by the geography department, this school competition was part of the 23rd geography competition of the LaSuB (Chemnitz site) and offered students the opportunity to put their geographical knowledge to the test.
On August 23, 2024, the long-awaited school party of the last school year took place in bright sunshine. Numerous visitors flocked to the school grounds in Pestalozzistraße from 3 p.m. to experience an entertaining and varied summer day together.
For our sixth graders, the school year did not start in the usual way in the classroom, but in the Glauchau outdoor pool. Over four days, we worked together on our individual swimming skills, depending on our previous knowledge. This included breaststroke swimming, swimming on the back, various jumps into the water, diving off the starting block and deep and long-distance diving.
