Erasmus+ Student Mobility Experience: A Week in Barcelona with Class 10a
From 16.09.-20.09.2024 we, class 10a of the Int. Gymnasium Meerane, were in Barcelona, Spain, as part of the exchange program: Erasmus+ student mobility.
An Exciting Week of Science: Exploring Nature, Chemistry, and the Universe
For our excursion week this year, the 7th graders participated in natural science workshops and experiments. We started the week with two days at school, during which we attended four different workshops. The first workshop was about flying, where we learned a lot about airplanes and how to make small-scale models.
Lifesavers at the start: defibrillator for our school!
Good news: The IGM is now the proud owner of a defibrillator! Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our student representatives and the active support of the school club as part of the "Little Paramedic Workshop", we were able to apply for this life-saving device from the school authorities - with success.
Hey folks, as they would say in London!
Our 9th grade excursion to London took place from 15.9. to 20.9.2024. On Sunday afternoon, we started our bus journey on time towards the ferry port of Dunkirk. After almost 20 hours of travel, we finally arrived in London. Although we were pretty exhausted, we went straight to the first highlight: the famous Globe Theatre.

We live in a time when the values of our society are the subject of much debate. Some people may also ask themselves what these values actually are. The German Basic Law in particular provides us with information on this question and shows how important it is to uphold human dignity and fundamental rights.
Exciting geo-competition: pupils shine with their knowledge
On August 28, 2024, the time had come again: the geo-competition at the International High School in Meerane took place for grades 7 and 12. Organized by the geography department, this school competition was part of the 23rd geography competition of the LaSuB (Chemnitz site) and offered students the opportunity to put their geographical knowledge to the test.
A great school festival 2024
On August 23, 2024, the long-awaited school party of the last school year took place in bright sunshine. Numerous visitors flocked to the school grounds in Pestalozzistraße from 3 p.m. to experience an entertaining and varied summer day together.
Swimming, jumping, diving and lots of swimming badges
For our sixth graders, the school year did not start in the usual way in the classroom, but in the Glauchau outdoor pool. Over four days, we worked together on our individual swimming skills, depending on our previous knowledge. This included breaststroke swimming, swimming on the back, various jumps into the water, diving off the starting block and deep and long-distance diving.
Ready to fly - Abitur 2024
On June 15, 2024, 26 high school graduates received their well-deserved Abitur certificates in the auditorium of our high school. After eight years together, their time at school comes to an end and the next doors open. Luca Reimann and Valentin Ehrler were even able to celebrate an outstanding average of 1.0.
